Overview

The SmartGM862 add-on board is a full-featured development tool for Telit GM862 GSM/GPRS modems. The board features a switching power supply which accepts 9-32V DC or 7-23V AC, a DIP-switch to select which microcontroller I/O should be used to control the modem, a double PCB antenna holder (GSM/GPRS and GPS), audio input and output connectors, modem on/off button, and placeholder for a 2x15 strip connector (2.54mm) providing all Telit modem signals.

The board supports Telit GM862-QUAD, GM862-QUAD-PY and GM862-GPS GSM/GPRS modems. These modules combine access to digital communication services in GSM 850, 900, DCS 1800 and PCS1900 MHz networks. GM862 modems provide many features such as voice, circuit switched data transfer, phonebook, SMS, four band GSM capability, hot removal sensing on board SIM Reader, GPRS Class 10 and battery charger circuitry.
