Add four 12-bit analogue inputs to your prototype circuit with this ADC Proto board. Communicates with microcontrollers using SPI serial interface. Suitable for general prototyping and connects directly to solderless breadboards.
The ADC add-on board provides four buffered 12-bit analogue inputs and is based on Microchip's MCP3204 A/D converter IC, which interfaces to microcontrollers serially by SPI bus. The board also features a Microchip MCP6284 rail-to-rail op-amp and 4.096V reference voltage. The board is ideal for use with your own prototype circuits and plugs directly into solderless breadboards.
Microchip Technology's MCP3204 12-bit Analogue-to-Digital Converter (ADC) combines high performance and low power consumption in a small package (14-pin), making it ideal for embedded control applications. The MCP3204 features a successive approximation register (SAR) architecture and an industry-standard SPI serial interface, allowing 12-bit ADC capability to be added to any SPI-equipped microcontroller. The MCP3204 features 100k samples/second, 4 input channels and low power consumption (5nA typical standby, 400 µA max. active). Applications for the MCP3204 include data acquisition, instrumentation and measurement, multi-channel data loggers, industrial PCs, motor control, robotics, industrial automation, smart sensors, portable instrumentation and home medical appliances.
