Overview

The PIC32MX4 Multimedia Board is MikroElektronika's new 32-bit multimedia development system incorporating advanced features such as 320x240 colour TFT display with touchscreen, joystick, USB host and device interfaces, stereo codec, accelerometer, temperature sensor, MMC/SD card slot and serial Flash and EEPROM memory. The PIC32MX4 system is ideal for users wanting to develop advanced graphical, audio, communications and storage applications using the most popular components in consumer electronic components.

 

Useful I/O Devices

To make developing and testing multimedia applications easy and allow you to quickly configure hardware without the need to manually wire up time-consuming and possibly tempermental prototypes the PIC32MX4 incorporates a number of useful I/O devices including:

  • Colour 320x240 TFT display with touch-screen.
  • On-board WM8731SEDS stereo CODEC with integrated headphone driver.
  • Headphone and microphone connectors on-board for audio testing.
  • Joystick controller for navigating on-screen menus and general input.
  • Host and device USB connectors for USB development needs.
  • RS-232 communications with PC or another microcontroller.
  • Microchip MRF24J40 2.4GHz IEEE 802.15.4 transceiver module (optional).
  • ADXL345 digital accelerometer for measuring static or dynamic acceleration.
  • MCP9700A analog temperature sensor for measuring temperature from -40°C to 125°C.
  • On-board MMC/SD card slot ideal for testing mass storage and data acquisition applications.
  • M25P80 8Mbit serial Flash memory with SPI interface.
